Actual Research Interests
I have worked in the areas of human-computer interaction, computer graphics/virtual reality, and artificial intelligence, and I am particularly interested in the intersections between them. My research work is done within the Human-Computer Interaction Lab (HCI Lab research areas, projects, and publications).
Lately, I have been mostly interested in automated and assistive camera control techniques for interactive environments, for example:
- real-time viewpoint computation based on a set of required visual composition properties, an approach based on Particle Swarm Optimization. Read more on a paper recently accepted by the IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics journal (also, C++ source code is available).
- interactive tools for cinematographic content creation
- applications to virtual museums, serious games and virtual training
