ISO 9000 series of International Standards for quality management and assurance
The ISO 9000 family of standards is aimed at providing organizations guidelines on what constitutes an effective quality management system.
The standard ISO 9004-1 gives guidelines on the elements of quality management and of a quality system
ISO 9000 includes three (generic) quality assurance models (ISO 9001, ISO 9002, ISO 9003) against which the quality system can be audited to see that it complies with ISO 9000 requirements (ISO 9000 Certification).
