When are TMS Systems Useful?

Any system that has to choose among alternatives can use (and benefit from) the techniques developed by TMS systems.

Suitable siutuations are those where reasoning is based on:

• partial information,

• defualt assumptions,

• dynamically changing information,

• possibly inconsistent data.

In order to use a TMS in a given situation, it should be possible to assign credit to the consequences of choices.
