Industry is constantly challenged by new and advanced technological problems in the area of automation. These problems are often excellent research projects for young researchers and engineers. I have supervised several brilliant students in successfully solving industrial application problems in collaboration with companies and I am always interested in new consulting and cooperation opportunities.
Elements of these collaborations are:
Solution of advanced technological problems, of interest to the company.
Access to a wide and highly qualified knowledge network within the University.
Training of a young engineer in the industrial application area, supported through a research fellowship to be sponsored by the company.
Active knowledge transfer from the university to the company, which can result in the final hiring of the young engineer.
Typical sponsoring cost for companies are in the range of 35.000 euro, depending on the final collaboration agreement. It includes
Young researcher fellowship: 22.816,91 E. (amount and student selection are subject to Italian law);
Consulting contract: from 12.000 to 15.000 E.;
Advantages:
For the young engineer: acquire a specific competence in a topic of applied research.
For the university: financial support for new research.
For the company: solution of specific, advanced problems and training of a candidate future employed.
Fellowship sponsoring can also yield tax advantages in Italy.
