Syllabus of the course on
Models and Algorithms for Resource Management
a.y. 2001-2002

Finalità: The course is the prosecution of the course Operations Research and aims at giving the conceptal and practical tools to cope with real life resource management problems. The course is divided into thee parts. In the first part general modeling techniques are presented; in the second one, throughout a detailed presentation of real life cases, one sees how these techniques are applied and in the third part programming tools are presented to build up the final software.
1) COMPLEX MODELS AND HEURISTICS (16 hours) - Paolo Serafini
Integerated Routing, Allocation and Scheduling Models. Local Search. Greedy methods. Disaggregation.
2) CASE STUDIES (16) - Fabio Tiozzo (Cybertec, Trieste)
3) BUILDING A COMPLEX CODE (16) - Giuseppe Lancia (University of Padova)
Exam: Oral examination.
