The Index of Complex Networks (ICON) aims to assemble and provide a comprehensive index of real-world complex network data sets, across all domains of science.

  1. Browse the index and download your favorite network of significative size
  2. Compute the absolute and relative size of the largest connected component and bi-component
  3. Test the resilience of the network with different removal strategies
  4. Compute the average distance among nodes, the diameter of the network and the distribution of distances among nodes
  5. Compute the degree distribution; compare mean and median of degrees; compute the skewness index; verify if the network is scale-free (that is, if the degree distribution is a power law)
  6. Test if the network is assortative by degree
  7. Compute the transitivity coefficient of the network (or the reciprocity index if the network is directed)
