PROS:

• very general

• assiciative nature

• good cognitive adequacy with the right choice of the primitives

• flexible

• estensible

- it allows extensional and intensional definitions

• it allows ad-hoc reasoning algorithms

CONS:

• not easy to select primitives (granularity, abstraction level, ...)

• exceptions

- instance/class distinction

• spreading activation can be 'heavy' (combinatorial explosion)

• inheritance causes distribution of definitions
