The Medical Informatics group is concerned with two main areas of research:

• clinical databases
• patient monitoring

• Temporal queries and different granularities,
• Temporal abstractions,
• Views for object-oriented clinical databases,
• Application to cardiology patients database,
• Multimedia data management,
• Internet based access to clinical databases.

• temporal reasoning,
• knowledge-based monitoring and control of mechanical ventilation in Intensive Care Units,
• temporal granularity and indeterminacy.
